Comets outlast Park View
SoVaNow.com / October 10, 2013The Halifax County High School varsity volleyball team outlasted Park View, winning three games to two, in non-district action Monday night in South Boston.
HCHS took the first two games, 25-19 and 25-20, but then Park View found some momentum and won game three (25-14) and four (25-16).
HCHS then rolled to a 15-5 win in game five to decide the match.
HCHS got good serving, as Cecilie Elliott had 20 good serves, Whitney White had 12, Megan Puckett 11, Taylor Barnes and Logan Redd 10 apiece and nine from Chris Bradshaw and Gabrielle Spainhour.
Elliott led the way with five service aces, while Redd and Barnes had three.
Elliott had 49 assists, with Spainhour recording 45. Madison Puryear had ten.
Spainhour had 11 kills, along with eight from Barnes and from White. Bradshaw had six kills.
Barnes and Bradshaw had 35 digs, while Puckett had 16 and Megan Nunn 15. Elliott had 11 and Spainhour nine.
White had seven blocks, while Spainhour had three and Barnes two.
