Comets shut down Tunstall

The Halifax County High School varsity baseball team defeated Piedmont District rival Tunstall Thursday, 7-0.

Halifax jumped out to a strong start, scoring six runs on eight hits in the first inning.

Halifax later added a single run in the top of the seventh.

Halifax finished with 14 hits, Tyler Mabe went two-for-three with a run scored. Dylan Clark went two-for-four with a run scored. Drew Harlow had an RBI. Troy Ferrell went two-for-three with an RBI and two runs scored.

Alex Lowery went one one-for-four with a run scored. Joey Duffer brought a hot bat, going three-for-four with a run scored and three RBI.

Will Wallace went one-for-three with a run scored. Zack Lowery was two-for-four.

Tunstall managed two hits.
