Comets take Bassett in five

Halifax County High School volleyball battled through a lengthy Piedmont district match against Bassett, winning in five games.

The Comet spikers lost the first two games, 25-21 and 25-19. Then the Comets rallied, winning the final three,m 25-18, 25-13 and 15-8.

Taylor Barnes had one ace, with 12 good serves, and nine service points. Barnes added three good attacks and 30 good passes and two good sets, with one block. Chris Bradshaw had three aces, with 13 good serves. She added eight service points, three kills, and 17 good attacks. She also had 25 good passes.

Cecilie Elliott had two aces, with 15 good serves, ten service points and four kills, with eight good attacks. She had ten good passes.

Maddie Jackson had one good attack, 14 good passes and Megan Nunn also contributed, with one ace, three good serves, one service point and four good passes.

Megan Puckett had three aces, 16 good serves, 12 service points, three kills and eight good attacks, with 18 good passes.

Logan Redd added one good serve, with one service point, one kill and two good attacks.

Gabby Spainhour had four aces, 12 good serves, 11 service points, ten kills, 25 good attacks, and 12 good passes.

Whitney White had 17 good serves, 11 service points, 14 kills and 28 good attacks.
