Complex hosts tournaments

South Boston Dixie Youth will host two state tourneys, starting Friday at the Day Complex.

A total of 17 teams will compete for the Dixie Youth baseball AAA and O-Zone state crowns.

Game one on Friday features Madison Heights vs. Carroll County at 2 p.m., followed by Rustburg vs Scottsburg at 4 p.m. Christiansburg and Bedford National are set to go at 6 p.m., with Salem against South Boston at 8 p.m.

There will be four games on Saturday, starting at 2 p.m..

There are three games set for Sunday, starting at 3 p.m., with more action at 5 p.m. and an 8 p.m. finale.

Monday’s slate calls for two games, at 6 and 8 p.m.

The tournament title game is set for Tuesday, at 7 p.m.

The Dixie Baseball AAA state tournament is set for Friday, as well.

The opener is Brunswick against Floyd County, at 1 p.m., followed by Salem vs. Prince Edward at 3 p.m. Amelia and Rustburg are set for 5 p.m., with Christiansburg vs. Bedford Metro at 7 p.m.

There are four games set for Saturday, scheduled at 1 p.m., three p.m., five p.m. and 7 p.m. The last game features the winner of game two against the host South Boston team.

There are three games for Sunday, at 2:30, 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Monday’s slate has two games, set for 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday’s slate has two games, at 6 and 8 p.m. The championship is set for Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
