Conference play begins for Comet teams / May 15, 2017
Four Halifax County High School sports teams are lined up for conference play this week.

Tonight, three Comet squads face elimination games in conference 16 action. Varsity baseball has a bye and starts Wednesday at home.

Softball has a five seed, and the have to travel to no. 4 seeded Orange County at 5 p.m. today.

Girls soccer is at home. The fourth seeded Comets host no. 5 seed PH-Roanoke at 5:30 p.m.

The boys soccer team, the no. 3 seed in the six-team conference mix, hosts no. 6 seed Orange County at 7:15 p.m. tonight.

Baseball has a bye and will face the winner of fourth-seeded PH-Ashland and no. 5 seed Albemarle at Wednesday at 6 p.m.

If any of the Comet teams playing tonight win, each would advance to conference semifinals action on Wednesday.

Softball would go to no. 1 Atlee. Girls soccer would go to no. 1 seed Albemarle. Boys soccer would travel to no. 2 seed Albemarle.

Admission is $6 and no local passes are accepted.
