Dixie, Babe Ruth state tournaments in full swing / July 12, 2017
Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth state tournaments will be in full swing this weekend as teams from Machine Pitch to Babe Ruth 13-14 All-Stars take to the diamond for a chance to advance to the world series stage.

The South Hill Machine Pitch All-Stars won their Dixie district tourney and will compete in the Dixie Youth Machine Pitch state tournament beginning Friday in Lunenburg.

South Hill also won the Dixie O-Zone division title this year and will open state tourney play at Brookneal on Friday.

The Babe Ruth 13 years-old players will begin their tournament on July 13 in Arlington. The 14-year-old athletes will also start state tourney play on Thursday in Emporia.

The Babe Ruth division also hosts Region Tournaments that will take place in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida after state competition is completed.
