The Halifax County Dixie Pre-Majors exited state tournament play in South Hill, losing to Charlotte County on Saturday night, 14-0.

Earlier, Halifax suffered a 19-0 loss to Mecklenburg.

In Saturday’s final game, Charlotte County put on a solid offensive show.

The Charlotte County squad scored three runs in the first inning, five in the second, and finished with six runs in the fourth.

Halifax had an ineffective outing offensively and never seriously threatened.

The locals loaded the bases in the first inning on three walks, but could not push a run across.

Meanwhile, Charlotte dominated the action.

Charlotte County enjoyed strong production at the top of the lineup. Leadoff Brendan Francisco singled twice and scored two runs. Brardin Henson walked and singled, scoring twice.

Johnny Holeman collected two walks, hit a single and scored three times.

Wade Jenkins hit two singles and a double and scored once.

Aliq Walker tripled late and scored once.
