Football camp off to a great start / July 07, 2021
Chase City Community Park welcomed about 25 athletes on Monday night as a free youth football camp kicked off.

Continuing through Friday, the camp is for youths ages eight to 18. Camp organizer Sean Gayles, who is an assistant with the Bluestone varsity football team, said he was pleased with the initial turnout.

Kids from Mecklenburg, Charlotte County and Prince Edward were in attendance. Various skill stations were set up. A couple of teenagers ran 40-yard times in the lower four-second range.

If you didn’t attend the camp on Monday, one can still take part in the days that remain. T-shirts, drinks and food are provided at no cost. Sessions are from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
