Four Comets earn district first team honors / November 29, 2018
Halifax County High School varsity football had one first team all-Piedmont District selection on the offensive team, senior running back Kenneth Davis Jr.

The Comets had three first team all-district selections on defense, defensive lineman Skylar Ashworth, defensive end Hubert Brooks, and linebacker Brandon Davis.

Halifax had three all-district selections on the second team, offensive linemen Jalil Smith and Zaveyon Woodall Herbert Brooks at running back.

Earning honorable mention honors were kicker Armiche Crawley, quarterback Ryan Moore, defensive back William Davis, wideout Traivius Chappell, K. Davis, as an all-purpose player and linebacker; tight end Brandon Davis, kick return and defensive back Otis Slayton and defensive end Tucker Harris.

Clay Hardy of Tunstall earned offensive player of the year honors. Defensive player of the year was Carl Poole of GW. J.R. Edwards of Franklin County was coach of the year.
