Sports Girls’ swim team enjoys solid win over Prince EdwardSoVaNow.com / December 03, 2012
The Halifax County High School girls’ swim team enjoyed a solid win over Prince Edward High School Thursday.The Comets had a wide margin of victory, 68-23. Halifax won the 200 meter medley relay with a time of 2:338.32. Halifax also had a third in this event. The top Comet swimmers were Lexi Reaves, Jordan Miller, Jessica Conner and Anna Carol Cole. Hailey Prevette won the 200 meter free in 3:10.27, with Sara Reese third. Jordan Miller won the 200 meter IM in 3:15.32, with J. Conner second in 3:20.02. Cole captured the 50 meter free in 33.66, with L. Reaves second in 34.52. Jordan Miller won the 100 meter fly in 1:47.78, with Hannah Saunders second. PE won the 100 meter free in 1:28.18, with Reese second in 1:33.50 and Emily Nester third in 1:34.56. Jessica Conner led a 1-2 Comet sweep in the 500 meter free in 6:30.80, with Saunders second. Halifax won the 200 meter free relay in 2:18.90, with the Comets also taking third. The top Comet team included Lexi Reaves, Cole, Prevette and Miller. Cole won the 100 meter back with a time of 1:33.67, with Reaves second in 1:34.336. Jessica Conner won the 100 meter breast in 1:37.85, with Prevette second. PE won the 400 meter free relay, and HCHS took second in 6:18.51. The Comets second place team included Brook Boelte, Hannah Saunders, Sara Reese and Gabby Spainhour. News & Record
