Golfers finish behind Tunstall

The Halifax County High School golf team finished behind Tunstall in the latest round of Piedmont District regular season action.

Halifax shot a team score of 333 in Wednesday action, while Tunstall had a 313, winning another PD match.

Peter Gasperini led the Comets with a 79, while Josh Irby had an 81. Joey Gasperini had an 83 and Alex Tepper also had an 81.

Graham noted the Comets are trying to get ready for the all-important conference tournament, to be held in two weeks in Hanover in the Richmond area.

HCHS is also seeking to get a practice round completed before the conference tournament.

The HCHS jayvee golf team continues to show promise.

The Comets defeated Franklin County, 171-181, in action last Thursday.

In the most recent match for the jayvees, Kaleb Cole led the way with a 40.

Chandler Bridges shot a round of 43.

Leggett Moore, Jamie Binner, Matt Ratliff and Luke Newbill all had rounds of 44.
