The Halifax American all-stars are 2-0 in early action from the Dixie Youth baseball district 2 minor league tournament in Brunswick.

HA sailed past Halifax National in the opening game, and then the locals defeated South Hill, 15-10, in second round action Saturday.

HN 15, South Hill 10

Inning 1- Jay Farmer pitched. Peyton Crenshaw got a single, Carter Thomasson a double and Gabe Matthews got a single. Peyton Crenshaw scored.

Inning 2 - Farmer pitched one-thirds of an inning, Mason Rush pitched two-thirds. Grady Upchurch slapped a double.

Inning 3 - Mason Rush worked one-thirds of an inning, Peyton Crenshaw pitched two-thirds. HA had no hits.

Inning 4 - Mason Rush, Peyton Crenshaw, Carter Thomasson and Gabe Matthews delivered singles. Mason Rush scored.

Inning 5 - Peyton Crenshaw started the inning but got no outs after three batters. Grady Upchurch came on in relief and got two strikeouts and a ground out. Neyland Wallace and Gabe Cash walked. Grady Upchurch and Peyton Crenshaw hit singles. Carter Thomasson added a double. Wallace, Upchurch, Cash and Crenshaw scored.

Inning 6 - Grady Upchurch pitched one-thirds of an inning. Carter Thomasson pitched two-thirds. Matthews, Wallace, Cash, Rush and Thomasson drew walks.

Upchurch got two singles. Matthews and Cameron Parkman also had singles.

Anthony Wilborn got a double. Matthews (2), Wallace, Upchurch, Cash, Wilborn, Rush, Crenshaw, and Thomasson scored.

In earlier action, HA blanked Halifax National, 9-0, on Friday night.

Inning 1 - Jay Farmer pitched, with no hits, one walk, no runs, two strikeouts, one ground out. Grady Upchurch got a double. Mason Rush, Peyton Crenshaw, Carter Thomasson and Neyland Wallace walked. Rush, Crenshaw and Thomasson scored for an early 3-0 lead.

Inning 2 - Farmer pitched 1/3 of the inning, no hits, walked three, one fly out. Carter Thomasson came on in relief, getting two strikeouts. Anthony Wilborn hit a single. Cameron Parkman, Kaden McClelland and Mason Rush walked, but HA did not score.

Inning 3 - Carter Thomasson pitched- two strike outs, one fly out, allowed one single, no runs.

Carter Thomasson walked, Gabe Matthews got a fielders choice, but there was no scoring.

Inning 4 - Carter Thomasson pitched, allowing two singles and one fly out. Grady Upchurch cane on in relief and walked one and struck out one. Gabe Cash got a single, Grady Upchurch walked. Upchurch scored to extend the lead to 4-0.

Inning 5 - Grady Upchurch pitched, and allowed one double, walked one, struck out two and had one ground out. Gabe Matthews and Neyland Wallace both had singles, but HA did not score.

Inning 6 - Grady Upchurch pitched, striking out two while walking one. Mason Rush came on in relief and struck out one. Griffin Bryant, Mason Rush, Peyton Crenshaw, Gabe Matthews, Kaden McClelland, Grady Upchurch got singles, Carter Thomasson got a double.

Jay Farmer walked. Bryant, Rush, Thomasson, Farmer, and Matthews scored to complete the scoring. HA finished with a 9-0 win.

HALIFAX NATIONALS ELIMINATED - The Halifax Nationals had a brief run before elimination, scoring nine runs in two games.

The Nationals were blanked in game one to Halifax American. The Nationals fell to Emporia, 12-9, in game two.
