Halifax girls rout Bassett 44-9

That’s all the scoring Bassett mustered in a lopsided loss Friday night to the Comet varsity girls’ basketball squad Friday night.

The Comet girls routed Bassett, 44-9.

Halifax enjoyed balanced scoring, led by Ella Morrison with eight.

Morrison got all of her scoring in the first period as Halifax raced to a 21-0 lead.

Dee Dee Jeffress and Demeisha Canada had seven apiece. Lynia Reed scored six.

Nine Comets scored.

Halifax had solid offensive consistency in the win. Halifax scored 15 in the second period, with eight in the third. By the end of the third period, Halifax led 44-3.

Lacey Flanagan led Bassett with three points.

Halifax had 12 field goals, four three-pointers, and went eight-for-14 from the foul line.
