Halifax O-Zone takes on Patrick County for title

The Halifax County O-Zone all-stars had a tough assignment last night.

Halifax, now 3-1 in state tournament play, met unbeaten Patrick County with a World Series trip on the line. But the locals need to win twice to advance to the World Series.

Halifax County eliminated Madison Heights Tuesday with a 5-0 win in the state.

The locals had six hits and four RBI, with three walks. Logan Clark and Logan Smith belted home runs.

Clark, Eli Seamster, and L. Smith (two RBI) carried the run production responsibility for the local all-stars.

Pitching wise, Lukas Newton and L. Clark got the job done for Halifax County.

Newton worked 3.1 innings, allowing two hits and fanning two. Clark went 2-2 innings, with three hits allowed and one strikeout.

Halifax earlier fell to Patrick County, 11-2. Smith homered and had two two RBI. Halifax had just three hits and two runs in the earlier loss to Patrick County.

Patrick County belted nine hits with 11 runs scored. The visitors cracked a pair of doubles and homered twice.
