The top offensive performances came from a couple of sophomores from each team. Bluestone’s Tyra Dennis scored a season high 15 points. PV’s Deaona Watkins posted 16 points to lead all scorers. Mikya Harrison added 13 points for the Lady Dragons.

During the first period of play Bluestone gave the Lady Dragons all they could handle. Lady Baron Xzareyah Tucker scored the first basket to open the game. PV answered with a deuce before Bluestone’s Kayla Williams pushed down the lane for the 4-2 score.

PV went on a 13-0 run led by Watkins to move out to the 15-4 lead. Bluestone fought back as the quarter ended with a 6-0 burst to finish the period down by five points, 15-10.

In the second quarter a Williams deuce and one-of-two at the foul stripe by Jalan Dailey got the Bluestone girls within two points, 15-13. PV would then go on a dominating 15-0 run before Bluestone’s Amiracle Hilliard hit a three-pointer. PV went to the half leading with a score of 31-16.

Tucker and Williams had four points each in the first half for Bluestone. Watkins and Mikya Harrison led the Lady Dragons with 10 points apiece.

Park View outscored Bluestone 15-5 in the third. It was during this quarter that Harrison broke the 1,000-point mark for her high school career. The accomplishment was cheered by fans from both teams.
