HCHS cheerleaders heading to Stafford for competition

South Boston News / October 26, 2017
The Halifax County High School cheerleaders will journey to Stafford for regional competition this weekend.

Halifax had a Monday night exhibition to show the community how the squad has been progressing.

Halifax has fashioned a routine and has been working on this for a couple of months, according to coach Sami Starke.

Depending on how the Comets fare, Halifax is hoping to have a chance at a state berth. Sixteen teams are competing in regional action, and the top two advance to state action.

“The girls are doing very well. They have all progressed. They work hard every day. They have a variety of tumblers, variety of stunts, and they continue to make me proud,” she said.
