Halifax County High School jayvee girls’ soccer recorded a tie and a win in recent action.

The Lady Comets battled Bassett to a 1-1 tie last Friday on the road.

Halifax had 28 shots to six for its opponents. Halifax did not manage the time at the end which almost resulted in a loss. Bassett earned a penalty kick with about three minutes left. Halifax was relieved when the shot went wide.

Bassett later tied the contest.

Halifax got its lone goal from Kerrie Reaves. She was injured late in the contest and now is expected to miss the rest of the season.

On Tuesday, Halifax hosted Martinsville on senior night and sailed to a 6-0 win.

Ella Morrison had four goals. Carrie Midkiff scored from a set play and Maddie Freshour scored from about 20 yards out. Halifax had 19 shots and five corners.

Halifax has outscored its opponents 43 goals to four. The Comets 10-1-1.

The finale is tonight against Magna Vista.
