HCMS boys second at Jr. Piedmont District track meet / May 13, 2021
The Halifax County Middle School boys track team finished second in the meet at Patrick County last Thursday, scoring 53 points over Fieldale-Collinsville and Laurel Park.

Jamal Bellamy scored 35 points and placed first in the shot put and leads the 2020-21 Junior Piedmont Conference at 41 feet, 3 inches. Bellamy also won the discus event with another conference best of 111’ and also had wins in the 100-meter dash and the 400M dash. This while also scoring second in the high jump and long jump and third in the 200M dash.

Brennan Hunt placed first in the high jump with a conference best of 4’8” and scored points in 400M relay and the discus.

Tyler Staton scored points in the mile with a personal best of 7 minutes, 38 seconds and posted points in the 1600M relay.

William Payne earned points in the half mile with a personal best of two minutes, 59 seconds and placed third in the long jump while also scoring in both relays.

Jaivion Hamlett scored points in the discus and in both relays; Juelz Dunkley scored points in the 400M relay.
