Halifax County Middle School boys soccer edged GW-Danville, 2-1, on Monday night in South Boston.

Wyatt Nelson and Michael Gordon had goals for the Lions. Halifax had some good shots and took four corner kicks. Goal keeper Osiris Ross collected six saves.

The Lions are 5-1-1.

Coach Kwame Lambert said, “The boys get to celebrate tonight for accomplishing one of the 2018 goals and that was win more than our games this year. That goal is crossed out and the boys are looking forward to keep piling up the wins.”

“We can’t take our eyes off the prize,” said Lambert.

Halifax is still seeking the Junior Piedmont District title.
