HCMS volleyball takes down Nottoway 3-0

The Halifax County Middle School volleyball team downed Nottoway, three games to none, in Thursday action.

Halifax took game one, 25-15, and then prevailed in game two, 25-9. The Lions took game three, 25-16.

Statistics: Christy McFadden - 1 serve; Haley Wooding - 6 serves, 2 kills; Mackenzie Lawter - 7 serves, 3 assists; Anna Clowdis - 1 kill; Olivia Noblin - 2 serves, 1 ace, 1 assist; Leigh-Anne McCormick - 1 serve; Katie Cole - 15 serves, 3 aces; Amber Moore - 19 serves, 6 aces, 3 assists; Calli Neal - We are really pleased with her progression as a setter.

Rose Spainhour - 4 serves; Aliyah Chandler - 4 serves, 1 ace, 2 kills Sierra Nunn - 2 kills; Carol Fears - 3 serves.

“The team is getting better with every match. They are really improving as individuals and more importantly as a team. They work well together and attack the ball consistently. Our serves have also improved and that is also giving us an edge over the competition,” coach Kacey Whitt said.
