Industrial League under way
SoVaNow.com / October 24, 2013The South Boston Industrial league basketball action has returned, with ABB getting out to a solid start.
ABB downed Goodyear 43-26 on Sunday. Jermaine Richardson led the winners with 13 points, while Dre Tucker added 11 and Jonathan Fields had eight. ABB finished five of 17 from the foul line.
United Steps/Felton defeated Benchmark, 46-24. Aaron Hill had eight points and two 3-pointers. Cordaro Jones had seven. Shermane Terry and Trumane Terry scored six apiece.
South Boston Tees defeated Presto/Halifax County, 58-42.
Waverly Harris and Robert Ross led the winners with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Dollar General/Unarco defeated Halifax County Regional Hospital, 54-51.
The eventual winners led by as much as 20 points before Halifax Regional made a very good rally attempt in the second half.
Tyrone Barksdale had 17 points to lead the winners. Chris Murphy chipped in eight and Joey Barksdale had seven.
Keon Gutrich picked up 21 to lead the hospital team, while teammate Demetrius Burrell had 18.
