The Halifax County High School jayvee boys’ basketball team continues to play well this winter.

The Comets turned back Martinsville, 42-34, at home Tuesday.

Halifax found a zone from 3-point land early, finding success from the bonusphere in the first period.

Adam Palmer struck twice from long range in the first period, and Kameron Roberts also hit from beyond the arc.

Halifax held a 15-3 margin after the first period and rolled on from there.

At the end of the third, Halifax led 35-26.

Palmer did good work at the foul line in the final period and finished with 11 points. Jaden Waller and Roberts had eight points apiece.
