Jayvee boys hold on for 56-52 OT win over Magna Vista

Halifax County High School’s John Loudon and KeQuan Newton scored 13 each, and the Comets posted 12 points in overtime to take the 56-52 win over host Magna Vista Tuesday.

MV played a dominant first half going to halftime with the 33-22 lead. Newton had 10 points in the first half.

The Comets posted six points in the third period and then tightened up their offense to score 16 in the final frame for the 44-44 score at the end of regulation.

The Comets had four players post points in overtime, eight players over the course of the game. Loudon and Aziyah Easley had four each in the extended frame; Daki Chandler and MyKyler Smalls contributed two points each.
