Jayvee boys tie Martinsville in soccer

SoVaNow.com / March 27, 2014
Halifax County High School jayvee boys soccer battled to a 1-1 tie with Martinsville recently.

Halifax had seven corner kicks. Martinsville had none.

Leon Mariano scored the goal for Halifax early in the second quarter.

Martinsville scored about three minutes afterwards to tie the game.

Chandler Bridgers made six saves.

“The team played really well. We got a lot of shots. We were just unlucky with shots hitting the goalpost and just barely going wide,” said coach Mario Sadler.

HCHS had nine shots, while Martinsville had seven.
