Jayvee girls fall to William Fleming / January 24, 2013
William Fleming defeated the Halifax County High School jayvee girls’ team, 62-17, in district action Tuesday in the Roanoke.

Ghanija Gooden led the Comet girls with seven points, while Timonee McCargo and Mecca Carter had three apiece.

Fleming had a strong offensive outing and led 19-4 at the end of the first period. Fleming led 27-11 in the second period.

HCHS had a tough night offensively, going without a field goal in the third period and nailing down two baskets in the fourth period.

HCHS continues its district season against PH tonight.

Fleming finished with eight players adding to its scoring total.
