Jayvee girls outscored in two losses on the road

SoVaNow.com / January 07, 2019
The Halifax County High School jayvee girls lost to Patrick County on the road Friday night, 43-20.

Patrick County had good scoring balance and started very well, outscoring the Comets 23-4 in the first period.

That set the tone for the rest of the night.

G. Hubbard led Patrick with 14 points.

Halifax never got into double figures for any quarter. Dakierra Graves led with six points and Janya Jackson and Savianna Bailey scored five apiece.

Halifax had seven points in the first half and just could not generate consistent offense early.

In earlier action, Halifax dropped a 56-15 decision at Franklin County.

Bailey led the Comets with eight and Jackson had six. Graves had one point.

Kylie Cooper led Frankin with 15 points.

Franklin scored 17 points in the first period, 12 in the second, 18 in the third and then added nine in the final period.

Halifax did not score in the first period and then had three points in the second and two in the third.
