Jayvee girls start well, fade, lose 42-38 / December 14, 2017
The Martinsville jayvee girls slipped past Halifax, 42-38, in Piedmont District basketball action.

Halifax started well, scoring 15 points in the first quarter. But the Comets slowed a bit and only had 10 points in the second period, eight in the third and five in the fourth.

Martinsville scored 14 in the first period, four in the second, nine in the third, and then clicked in the final quarter, scoring 15 points.

Kayla Townes had 11 for Halifax, while A’nya Brandon scored 10. Ella Morrison also had 10 points for the Comets.
