Jayvees hammer Martinsville / October 14, 2019
The Halifax County High school jayvee football team is 6-0 following a 46-0 win at Martinsville Thursday.

The Comet defense took center stage.

Starting safety Aziyah Easley had two interceptions, and two pass breakups. Defensive end Javeion Gooden also played well, with a stripped fumble and a fumble recovery.

The Comets also ran the ball well, getting one score from Demetrius Robertson and another by quarterback Dakii Chandler. Qualik Tucker also rumbled to two TDs.

“They’re playing extremely hard,” said coach Eugene Turbeville. “We’re not out of position on different plays. They’re always where we’re supposed to be.”
