Jayvees jump on Park View, win 66-41

The Halifax County High School jayvee boys basketball team routed Park View, 66-41, on Monday night at the Comet gym.

Halifax led 16-6 out of the gate at the end of the first period, and really never faced a serious challenge.

Halifax led 30-15 at the half and 48-24 by the end of the third period.

Kevon Ferrell got off to a good start, with eight points in the first quarter, and finished with 17. Amir Spencer also landed in double figures with 11 points. Nasir Word had nine.

Jalen Lawson had eight.

Halifax found some success from 3-point range, connecting on six treys. Lawson had two of them in the second quarter.

Halifax also had success at the foul line, with the Comets going 12-for-22. Ferrell connected on all four of his free throws.

Park View got out to a slow start offensively, hitting just three field goals in the first two periods.
