Jeffress trying to find groove
SoVaNow.com / May 13, 2013Jeremy Jeffress is back in professional Triple A baseball, trying to regain momentum in his career.
Jeffress, who started the season briefly with Toronto, has appeared in three games this spring with Buffalo, one step away from returning to the majors again. Jeffress has thrown 4.1 innings, and has yet to allow any runs. He has two walks and five strikeouts, a WHIP (walks, plus innings pitched) ratio of 1.15, with three hits allowed.
Jeffress last pitched Thursday against Norfolk.
Jeffress was optioned to Dunedin, Fla., after his brief stint with the Blue Jays. He now has some good numbers in minor league action this season. Jeffress has appeared in six games, with a 0.00 ERA.
He’s thrown 9.1 innings overall, allowing four hits, with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Opposing minor league batters are hitting .133 against Jeffress.
