The HCHS varsity girls’ soccer downed William Fleming, 3-0, in the district opener at home Tuesday night.

HCHS improved to 5-0, 1-0 in the Western Valley District.

Sarah Rosche scored first, 34 minutes into the first half. She was assisted by her sister, Megan.

HCHS got its second goal at 38:49, as Jaynee Cambell scored. She was assisted by S. Rosche.

In the second half, at 23:30, Wishee Marable scored, assisted by Campbell.

“The girls played much better than they had been playing. We had 47 shots on goal to their two,” said Comet coach Sid Young.

Fleming played hard, but this is a new program trying to gain traction in the WVD.
