Lady Comets down GW in volleyball / October 12, 2009
The HCHS varsity volleyball team continued its district success Thursday, downing archrival GW-Danville, three games to one.

HCHS opened with a 25-22 win in game one, followed by a 25-19 win in game two. GW rallied and won game three, 25-17, but the Comets closed out the match with a 25-19 win in game four.

HCHS graded out at 75 percent on its service game, 85 percent in passing and 95 percent in setting.

HCHS finished with 34 service points, sparked by ten from Jill Trickey. She also had three aces.

Jameshia Smith had nine service points, and two aces, while Kelsey Thompson had three service points and three aces. Jessie Bagbey had three service points and two aces.

HCHS had 14 aces overall.

The Comets also had 16 kills, led by Jamilia Smith with 11.
