Lady Comets heading to Albemarle in attempt to extend season / February 19, 2018
The Halifax County High School varsity girls basketball team faces a difficult test Monday night, traveling to Albemarle to try to extend the season.

Halifax is facing an elimination game.

AHS-HCHS should be a “pretty good matchup.(The Patriots) have the advantage by playing at home. I think for some of the things that happened to us earlier in the year, with injuries and other things, the girls have really bonded together and have been very competitive,” said Comet coach David Graham.

Halifax has had good practices this week, and the Comets, now 6-16, are looking forward to the challenge posed by AHS.

Albemarle is the no. 4 seed on this side of sub-regional action. Halifax is the fifth seed.

If Halifax advances, the Comets expect to travel to Harrisonburg, which will be favored to advance to Wednesday.
