The HCHS varsity girls’ soccer team lost to E.C. Glass, 9-1, in Western Valley district action Friday night.

The Comets showed commendable hustle, but there’s still a significant overall gap between these programs.

Comet head coach Sid Young said of his team, “they played hard. It was about ten or 15 minutes in the game before they (Glass) scored.”

Glass led 4-0 at halftime.

“Everything considered, I thought it was a great effort. They played hard. I thought everybody really did well. You’re disappointed in the score, but I was very, very pleased with the way they played.”\

Sarah Rosche had the lone score for the Comet girls.

Halifax is 8-5 overall and 2-5 in the district, with three WVD matches remaining.
