SoVaNow.com / April 25, 2013
The Halifax County High School girls’ varsity soccer team had a strong week, forcing a tie with GW on Monday and cruising to a 7-0 win at Magna Vista Tuesday.

The Comets are 7-3-1 on the season.

HCHS had a strong effort at Magna Vista Tuesday, and the girls turned in an excellent effort.

HCHS had a tough deal Monday night against GW, coming away with a 2-2 tie in Danville.

Gabby Nelson scored ten minutes into the second half and Ty Crews added the next goal, but HCHS did not adjhust to some changes from GW. The Eagles tied the game and forced two five minute overtime periods.

Finally, the game ended in a deadlock.

HCHS was hampered by a Sabrina Amos injury at the keeper spot, although Amanda Webb also turned in a strong effort in relief.
