Lady Dragons score conference wins over Southampton, Franklin
SoVaNow.com / December 18, 2013The Park View Lady Dragons won two important Tri-Rivers conference games this week — defeating Southampton at home on Friday, 62-17 and Franklin City, 63-12 on the road this Monday. The victories give the Lady Dragons a record of 2-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.
In Friday’s win over Southampton, the Dragon girls worked up a halftime lead of 26-9. Park View posted 11 points in the first quarter and 15 points in the second period.
The Lady Dragons then went on to score 20 points in the third period and 16 points in the final period.
Southampton could muster only eight points in the final half.
Brooke Tanner led the Lady Dragons with 14 points. JaBreia Clark scored 13 points and she was followed by Odicci Alexander with 11. Dare Wright gathered 10 points in the paint.
The Dragons got 39 rebounds, had 15 assists, 28 steals and one blocked shot. The team also committed 32 turnovers in the game.

Park View beats Franklin, 63-12
The Lady Dragons continued their high-powered offensive attack on Monday night in besting Franklin City 63-12.
The visiting Dragons held the Lady Broncos to zero points in the first quarter while scoring 18. Park View outscored Franklin 14-2 in the second quarter for a 32-2 halftime lead.
Park View came out in the third period and scored 16 points and went on to score 15 points in the final period. The Dragons held Franklin to 10 second half points.
Dare Wright, with 17 points, was high scorer for Park View. Odicci Alexander added 11 points. Brooke Tanner scored eight and Jacobie Maupin added seven points.
The Lady Dragons had 33 rebounds, 13 assists, 27 steals and two blocked shots. The team committed 13 turnovers.
