Lady Lions defeat Martinsville

The Halifax County Middle School Lion girls soccer team defeated Martinsville on the road Thursday, 4-0.

Sarah Lacks got the offense in gear with a goal at the 26th minute. Ella Morrison, one of the versatile athletes on the team, added a goal at the 20:09 minute mark. Morgan Crenshaw added a goal at the 18:52 mark. Talley Roberts scored at the 11:49 minute mark of the first half.

Halifax did not score in the second half. Ella Morrison took over at goal in the last ten minutes. Ainsley Gasperini moved to forward.

Halifax had 15 shots to goal. The coaching staff said the Lady Lions practiced quick, sharp passes. Halifax had good touches on the ball and worked the ball down the field well.

Morgan Crenshaw did a good job job as best forward. Sarah Lacks and Katee Mitchell were solid at midfield. Maddie Freshour and Chloe Lacks won praise for their work on defense.
