Visiting Bluestone could not keep pace with a strong Halifax County Middle School softball squad Monday.

HCMS downed Bluestone, 24-11, in five innings.

Sierra Nunn pitched three innings for Halifax. Nunn gave up three hits in three innings.

Eight Halifax errors led the way for eight Bluestone runs in the visitors’ half of the first inning.

Halifax’s Katie Cole pitched two innings with one hit. HCMS also struggled defensively during her stint, with five Lion errors paving the way for three Bluestone runs in the visitors’ fourth inning.

HCMS scored 14 runs in the first inning, no runs in the second, seven runs in the third inning, and three runs in the fourth.

Nunn hit two home runs.
