Lady Trojans get 3-1 win over Nottoway / October 04, 2017
In honor of those who have battled or are currently battling childhood cancer, the Bluestone Middle School volleyball team donned their gold jerseys before taking on the visiting Nottoway County last week.

The Bluestone struck first to seize the early momentum. Led by a strong serving performance by seventh grader Cassidy Newcomb, who scored four aces, Bluestone took set one, 25-19.
Bluestone battled hard during the second set, which saw several ties and lead changes between the two squads. Sixth graders Mallory Gordon, Amelia Whittington and Grace Newcomb all contributed to the hard-fought effort with a combined five aces. However, Nottoway was able to generate momentum late and overtook Bluestone in set two, 25-21.

Sets three and four were all Bluestone as the Lady Trojans played one of their best defensive games of their season, limiting Nottoway to five points in their third set victory, 25-5. Bluestone battled from behind early in the fourth set to take the set and the match 27-25.
