Lion girls improve to 3-0 / March 12, 2020
The Halifax County Middle School girls soccer team improved to 3-0 with an 8-0 win over Martinsville Tuesday in South Boston.

In the Martinsville match Leah Wright with 12 shots on goal scoring three. Peyton Davis scored one goal out of nine shots.

Chesney Richardson had seven shots on goal scoring two. Pan Pan Yang had nine shots and scored twice.

The Lions took a total 36 shots on goal. Mckayla Meadows had one save at goal, three corner kicks and one direct kick.

In earlier action the Lions defeated G.W. last week 12-0.

Leah Wright and Chesney Richardson each had three goals. Peyton Davis and Maggie Reaves had two goals each. Makayla Powell and Yang added a goal each.

The Lions had a total of 26 shots on goal with three corner kicks.

In the season’s first match, Halifax defeated Bluestone 3-2.

Yang, Davis, and Chesney Richardson posted the goals. The Lions took 23 shots on goal including four corner kicks.
