Halifax County Middle School girls soccer sailed by Fieldale-Collinsville 8-0 Wednesday, winning by slaughter rule. The final Lion goal came with 13:40 left on the game clock in the second half.

First half Lion scoring came from Cheyane Davis, Chesney Richardson, MaKayla Powell, and Pan Pan Young (two goals).

Keeper Kayla Meadows recorded two saves. Corner kicks first half were taken by Leah Wright, Peyton Davis, and four by Yang. Peyton Davis took a free kick. Leah Wright took a penalty kick that bounced off the top of the goal.

Halifax got second half goals from L. Wright, P. Davis, completing a hat trick, and M. Powell.

Rena Asare emerged as the most valuable player, for her defensive work and ball sharing skills.
