Lion golfers remain undefeated with 4-0 record / September 20, 2021

Halifax County Middle School golf improved to 4-0 after wins over Ben Franklin and Patrick County last week.

Halifax posted a 180 to win the match. Ben Franklin posted a 192; PC carded a 221.

The Lion’s Owen Mason was medalist with a 40. Bailee Henderson with a 45, Landon Elliott with a 47 and Drew Morgan’s 48 comprised the top-four golfers.

Halifax coach Charlie Payne said the team is playing well as district finals approach.

“This team has been very consistent in scoring this year,” Payne said. “This was the first match in which the team did not have a player score in the 60s. This shows improvement by all players.

“The weather was great today and we had tremendous fan support as usual. We will continue to improve each week.”

Lion golfers: Owen Mason 40, Bailee Henderson 45, Landon Elliott 47, Drew Morgan 48, Sidney Hughes 51, Ethan Conner 52, Nathan Hudson 52, and Logan Chappell 56.
