Lions easily get past Patrick

SoVaNow.com / February 13, 2017
The Halifax County Middle School boys basketball team sailed by Patrick County, 49-9, on Wednesday. Halifax has a 14-2 record to cap the regular season, and the no. 1 seed in the Junior Piedmont District tournament.

Montreal Claiborne scored 13 points and Jaden Waller had eight for HCMS. Amos Jones added six.

“They in no way had the athletes to match up with us. We played man in the halfcourt with the reserves seeing most all the action. I was pleased to see the reserves play well... (They) played under control and got the ball into the paint for some easy baskets. They moved the ball nicely against PC’s zone,” said Lion coach W.J. Long.
