Lions fall to Westwood / February 11, 2019
Halifax County Middle School boys basketball just lost to Westwood in hardwood action, and now the teams meet again.

Westwood will be coming to the Lion gym for first round Junior Piedmont District tournament Tuesday at 6:15 pm.

Westwood defeated the Lions 39-28 Friday.

Halifax had a competitive effort, but struggled to find offense in the second half. The Lions only had three baskets and one free throw in the final two periods.

Kanya Caddle scored 11 to lead the Lions.

Westwood did a good job handling its free throws, sinking nine of 15.

Earlier, on Thursday, the Lions defeated Patrick County, 41-30.

KeyQuan Newton led the Lions with 14 and Caddle scored eight.

Halifax had a steady scoring effort, with ten points in the first period, seven in the second, 13 in the third period and 11 in the final stanza.
