Lions on verge of golf title / September 28, 2017
The Halifax County Middle School golf team appears to be well on the way to another Piedmont Junior District title.

The Lions beat Ben Franklin Middle 193-209 Tuesday at Forest Park Country Club in Martinsville. Martinsville did not have a team score.

In addition to the win, J.D. Cunningham made a hole in one on the par 3, 182-yard sixth hole. The sixth grader was the medalist for this tournament, with a 41.

Peyton Wallace carded a 48 for the Lions, while Colby Bates had a 50. Sarah Lacks scored a 54.

Halifax has another final regular season match coming Monday.
