Lions pick up baseball win

The Halifax County Middle School baseball team routed Fieldale-Collinsville, 15-0, Wednesday.

The Lions scored four runs in the first inning, six in the second inning, and five in the third on the way to the slaughter rule victory.

Josh Gunn handled the pitching duties and threw a three inning no-hitter, with five strikeouts.

Tyler Collins singled and walked and scored twice. Gunn scored three runs, with two walks. He also reached on an error.

Jayke Owen walked three times and scored each time.

Cameron Carson tripled and doubled and had a productive RBI game.

Mason Hatcher hit an RBI single in the first and later walked and scored.

Trey Comer also had a productive RBI night, while scoring twice.
