Lions ramp up for busy basketball season

The Halifax County Middle School boys and girls basketball schedule has been released.

The boys are set to play first, with the girls getting the follow-up game.

The slate starts on Nov. 20, with Powhatan at home.

There’s a holiday break, followed by a busy December. Halifax five games in December, Martinsville Dec. 4 (away); Ben Franklin at home Dec. 7; Westwood at home Dec. 11; Laurel Park away Dec. 14; and Fieldale-Collinsville home Dec. 18.

The January slate includes six games. O.T. Bonner away Jan. 11; Patrick County at home Jan. 16; Martinsville at home Jan. 18; Ben Franklin away Jan. 22; Westwood away Jan. 25; and Laurel Park at home Jan. 29.

Halifax has three regular season games in February, Fieldale-Collinsville away Feb. 1; Bonner home Feb. 5 and Patrick County on the road Feb. 8.
