Lions soccer routs Russell, improves to 5-2

The HCMS soccer team improved to 5-2 on the season Thursday, after an 8-0 win at Russell.

The Lions led 7-0 at the half. HCMS got strong offensive production in the first period. Jax Bosiger scored with three minutes gone, and again at the 4:49 mark. Kenneth Harris scored at the 14 minute mark, while Gavin Bridgers connected with 19 minutes gone.

Nick Rosche scored at the 22-minute mark. Jamar Harris scored at the 26 minute mark of the first half and Bridgers connected with 28 minutes elapsed.

Grant Nichols had the lone second half goal for the Lions.

Earlier, on Wednesday, HCMS lost to Prince Edward, 2-1. HCMS outplayed PE and had a 37-8 edge on shots on goal. But two defensive breakdowns proved costly in the loss.
