Lions softball rolls over Park View, 10-3

The Halifax County Middle School softball team put together a big inning in the fourth and rolled to a 10-3 win over Park View Wednesday.

The Lions scored five runs in the fourth, which proved to be more than enough. HCMS also scored one run in the first, two in the third, one in the fifth inning and one in the sixth.

Taylor Barnes got the complete game win, and had an excellent mound outing. She allowed three runs on four hits, with two unearned runs. She fanned five and walked one.

Barnes also did an excellent job as the leadoff hitter. She scored three times, with four hits. Barnes doubled twice and had two RBI.

Megan Puckett hit two singles and a double and scored once. Peyton Myers had an RBI single in the first and also scored later after reaching on an error.

Kye-Neisha Logan hit two singles and added three RBI.

Halifax broke it open in the fourth, as Barnes and Logan had key RBIs and Sam Moser added an RBI sacrifice fly.
