Lions sweep Martinsville in shutouts / April 24, 2017

The Halifax County Middle School baseball team recently swept Martinsville in doubleheader action, 13-0 and 4-0 by forfeit.

Halifax had one competitive game in the win. In the 13-0 victory, Halifax collected six hits, led by Shea Carey’s two-for-three, three run scored outing.

Leo Noblin reached on an error and scored. He had a stolen base. Gavin Colwell scored three times after reaching base on an error, being hit by a pitch and drawing a walk.

Joey Duffer went one-for-three with two stolen bases, scoring three times.

Ben Irby went one-for-three with two runs scored. Nathan Comer had a one-for-three outing.

Kyle Barker had a quality mound outing, fanning seven.
